Frilot LLC partner William P. Wynne is a seasoned litigation attorney with more than 23 years of experience representing corporate and insurance clients in complex admiralty and maritime matters, commercial litigation, insurance coverage, and products liability. His practice focuses on high-exposure disputes involving vessel casualties, offshore injuries, Jones Act claims, environmental and toxic tort litigation, mass casualty incidents, and complex insurance coverage issues.

William has extensive experience litigating matters in both state and federal courts throughout Louisiana, Texas, and Alabama. He regularly represents national and multinational corporations, insurers, vessel owners, and maritime companies in sophisticated litigation involving maritime operations, commercial disputes, indemnity issues, and catastrophic losses.

In addition to his maritime practice, William has handled complex insurance coverage disputes involving construction defects, asbestos and silica exposure claims, oilfield legacy litigation, pollution matters, landfill disputes, governmental expropriation claims, and intellectual property issues. His maritime litigation experience includes vessel collisions and allisions, cargo damage claims, limitation of liability proceedings, vessel seizures, platform disputes arising under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, and personal injury claims involving Jones Act seamen, longshore workers, and non-seafarers.

William also has significant appellate and motion-practice experience and is known for providing strategic counsel in high-stakes litigation. Prior to joining Frilot, he practiced for many years at a nationally recognized AmLaw 200 firm and later co-founded a litigation boutique focused on maritime, insurance, and commercial disputes.

Before entering private practice, William served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Helen G. Berrigan of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

William frequently lectures on maritime law, insurance coverage litigation, and related areas of complex civil litigation.
