Patrick O'Leary is a partner in the firm's Admiralty & Maritime, Commercial Litigation, and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Areas. He handles a wide range of complex litigation in both federal and state courts, as well as in international arbitration.

In admiralty and maritime matters, Mr. O'Leary represents the interests of P&I clubs, marine and employers' liability underwriters, cargo interests, oil companies, offshore drilling contractors, ship agents, ship brokers, marine surveyors and foreign and domestic vessel owners. His practice includes litigation of cargo claims, personal injury claims, charter party disputes, vessel collisions, professional negligence and toxic tort/environmental pollution matters in both traditional blue water, oceangoing steamship trade and brown water inland operations. He also specializes in the implementation of the remedies and procedures set out in the Supplemental Rules for Admiralty or Maritime Claims and Asset Forfeiture Actions such as the maritime attachment and arrest of vessels and other property.

Mr. O'Leary's practice also focuses on complex, cross-border commercial disputes to be resolved both through international arbitration as well as in courts in the United States. His successful representations include obtaining and enforcing awards and judgments rendered in joint venture and commodities trading disputes.

Mr. O'Leary is a native of New Orleans who attended Louisiana State University, receiving a degree in Political Science in 2002. He received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Loyola University School of Law in 2006. At Loyola, Mr. O'Leary graduated in the top 3% percent of his law school class and earned class excellence awards in Civil Law Property I, Civil Law Obligations, Constitutional Law, Community Property and International Copyright Law Seminar.
