Frilot LLC congratulates Nairda T. "Lesa" Colón for her recent recognition as a New Orleans CityBusiness “Women of the Year” honoree for the second year in a row. In their announcement, CityBusiness stated that the award recognizes women from the New Orleans metropolitan area whose successes in business and contributions to the community have made them movers and shakers in the region.

Lesa is recognized for over 20 years of excellence in medical malpractice defense, healthcare, professional, general, and premises liability-related cases. A partner at Frilot, Lesa entered the firm’s second clerkship class in 1996, joining Frilot after graduating cum laude from Tulane Law School in 1997. As a lifelong New Orleans resident, she has a history of community involvement through her work with the Save NOLA Project, Habitat for Humanity, and Make It Right. Additionally, Lesa served on the Team Gleason Executive Legal Committee to help secure an innovative residence for those living with ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease

"As one of Frilot's first female lawyers, Lesa continues to be a trailblazer, and being honored for the 2nd time is well deserved," said Frilot LLC Partner, Peter Sperling. "Lesa is a mentor and role model for many young lawyers at the firm, and we are so proud she is being recognized for her work."

The 2020 Women of the Year were honored during a virtual event on November 20, 2020. They were also featured in a special insert in the November 20 issue of CityBusiness.
