Louis Oubre focuses his practice on the defense of companies in toxic tort and personal injury litigation, with additional experience in products liability and insurance coverage defense. His work includes defending clients in complex matters involving asbestos exposure, hurricane claims, defamation, and automobile personal injury claims.

Louis plays a central role in directing and managing case and trial preparation, with particular emphasis on discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and comprehensive client reporting. He has extensive experience representing insurance liability clients across a range of industries and has successfully defended both individual and corporate defendants in high-stakes litigation.

Before earning his law degree, Louis worked in classical radio and served with the United States Department of the Treasury. A magna cum laude graduate of Nicholls State University, where he was student government president, Louis earned his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in 1997. He graduated in the top 10% of his class and was recognized with Moot Court honors.

Louis is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts, the Louisiana Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Fifth Circuit Federal Bar Association, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute.

Outside of his legal practice, Louis is an avid supporter of the arts and history. He is a founding charter member of the National World War II Museum, a former president of the New Orleans Symphony Chorus, and a former board member of the New Orleans Symphony.
