Katie Chong is an associate in Frilot’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. Originally from Los Angeles, California, Katie joined the firm after clerking with Frilot during her 2L summer. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University Law School, where she also received a Maritime Law Certificate.

At Tulane, Katie distinguished herself through leadership, advocacy, and academic excellence. She received the Tulane 34 Award, presented annually to 34 graduates across all of Tulane’s schools in recognition of exceptional leadership, service, and academic achievement. She was also honored with the General Maurice Hirsch Award, given to the graduating student who, by faculty vote, contributed most distinctively and constructively to university or community needs, and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers for outstanding ability and excellence in oral advocacy.

While in law school, Katie was active in the Moot Court and Mock Trial programs, serving as Chief Justice of Moot Court and earning recognition as Best Advocate at the Southwest Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Competition. She also served as President of the Asian and Pacific American Law Students Association and was a member of the Dean’s Advisory Committee. Katie speaks English, Korean, and Spanish.
