Joleen Dacula is an associate at Frilot LLC, where her practice focuses on civil litigation, including maritime and insurance defense matters.
Before becoming an associate, Joleen spent two summers at Frilot and continued working with the firm as a law clerk during law school. She gained hands-on experience working alongside attorneys across the firm's litigation practice groups, assisting with dispositive motions, discovery, legal research, and case preparation in maritime, insurance coverage, medical malpractice, and other complex litigation matters.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Joleen gained experience in litigation support and commercial contract administration, including serving as Assistant Director of Contract Administration at HRI Properties. There, she managed commercial contracts, coordinated litigation matters, and worked with outside counsel, developing a practical understanding of business operations and risk management.
Joleen earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she was a published member of the Loyola Law Review. During law school, she and her team won the National Syracuse Deposition Competition in Loyola's first year participating. She also competed in the American Association for Justice Student Trial Advocacy Competition, earning individual recognition for opening statements and cross-examination, and later returned to coach the team.
Joleen graduated summa cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans with a bachelor's degree in English Literature. She also earned a Paralegal Certificate from Tulane University.
