Frilot partner and Admiralty and Maritime Practice Group member, J. Dwight LeBlanc III, has been involved in a wide array of legal matters arising from the maritime industry. Mr. LeBlanc handles cases ranging from Jones Act litigation to property damage, collision and allision, defense and indemnity obligations pursuant to contract and insurance coverage issues. Mr. LeBlanc has handled a large number of cases dealing with chemical releases and spills for a major client in the towing industry. He also represents owners, Protection and Indemnity Clubs, domestic and foreign insurers, oil field supply and service business and major oil companies.
Mr. LeBlanc has extensive experience in cases involving collision and maritime spills and releases of cargo. He has handled class action cases dealing with collisions and spills on the Mississippi River and Intercoastal Waterway. Outside of the Admiralty and Maritime Practice Area, Mr. LeBlanc deals with a number of product liability cases as well as insurance coverage cases.
A graduate of Tulane Law School, Mr. LeBlanc is a Proctor Member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States and is a member of the Planning Committee and Program Committee of the Tulane Admiralty Law Institute. He has been named a Best Lawyer in America, a Louisiana Super Lawyer and a Top Lawyer by New Orleans Magazine in multiple years. Mr. LeBlanc is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Fifth Federal Circuit Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute.
