Lauren Guichard is an associate in the firm's Admiralty & Maritime and Insurance Coverage practice areas. Her practice includes maritime personal injury defense, including Jones Act and Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act cases, as well as charter disputes, collisions, allisions and marine insurance.
She graduated cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she won the Loyola Moot Court Outstanding Senior Award and wrote for the Loyola Law Review. In her last year at Loyola, Ms. Guichard was also inducted into The Order of Barristers, a national honors society that inducts ten students each year based on their trial and appellate oral advocacy skills as well as their brief writing skills. She earned an M.B.A from the Millsaps College Else School of Management in Jackson, Mississippi.
In between her M.B.A and her J.D., Ms. Guichard served as a summer intern at a New York law firm, researching legal issues and preparing memoranda pertaining to corporate litigation and bankruptcy law. In this period she also held various positions at multiple New Orleans firms. In these roles she researched and prepared memoranda pertaining to maritime insurance contracts, asbestos, and other civil cases, and drafted motions for matters concerning product, restaurant, premises, and contractor liability, and security rights.
