Kathryn M. Caraway is a partner and Practice Area Coordinator of the firm’s Medical Liability and Healthcare section. She handles matters in professional liability with a focus on medical malpractice, pharmaceutical products liability and insurance defense. Among other clients, she has represented hospitals, physicians, community blood banks, nurses, and therapists. Ms. Caraway is an experienced litigator and has tried cases in both state and federal courts in Louisiana. She has presented seminars to lawyers and healthcare professionals on such topics as Documentation Do’s and Don’t’s, Advanced Issues in Louisiana Medical Malpractice, and Ethical and Medical Malpractice Issues in Oncology.

Ms. Caraway received her undergraduate degree in Communications from Newcomb College and worked for approximately eight years as a professional radio journalist before entering Loyola Law School. On Moot Court staff, she served as a teaching assistant and was twice selected to compete as a member of Loyola’s “Spring Team.” She received her Juris Doctorate in 1991.

Ms. Caraway is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, the Louisiana Hospital Association, and the Association of Women Attorneys. Ms. Caraway serves on the Board of Directors of Belle Reve, an assisted-living facility for individuals and families living with HIV-AIDS and continues to remain active in public radio. She was recently named one of the Top 50 Lawyers in New Orleans as a recipient of the 2006 CityBusiness Leadership in Law Award.
