Garrett Thalgott is an associate with the firm and practices in the Agriculture & Agribusiness Practice Group. He earned his law degree in 2006 from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, IA and received his undergraduate degree in Agronomy from Brigham Young University in 2003. His studies at BYU concentrated on soil fertility, and culminated with his work at the Brigham Young University Plant and Soil Analysis Laboratory. His responsibilities there included analyzing soil and plant tissue samples and making fertility recommendations based upon the results of those analyses. Mr. Thalgott brings relevant experience and knowledge in many of the legal issues surrounding livestock production from his past work with the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. Mr. Thalgott was raised in southeastern Idaho, where much of his time was spent working on farms producing various irrigated crops, including potatoes, wheat, and alfalfa.
