His practice covers the spectrum of admiralty and maritime, products liability, energy and environmental, and insurance defense. He has extensive trial and appellate experience and has tried over fifty cases to a conclusion. In the products liability field, Mr. Silverstein has obtained defense verdicts in Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas, in addition to his successful representation of manufacturers and retailers in courts throughout Louisiana. The wide spectrum of products Mr. Silverstein has defended includes appliances, hand tools, power tools, consumer products, industrial equipment, motors, fans, chemicals and ladders. In the admiralty and maritime field, Mr. Silverstein has handled matters arising under the Jones Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act, general maritime law, and the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. He has also handled collision and property cases for various vessel and oil companies. He has obtained favorable maritime verdicts in Alabama, Texas and in numerous state and federal courts in Louisiana.
